PHASE ONE: The City of Ashland, Oregon reached out to CGC to schedule a Conversations Journey for all their department heads. Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions at the time (Fall, 2021), a modified Conversations Journey was conducted online.
RESULTS: The City of Ashland Human Resources Department provided written testimony to CGC that the overwhelming response received was that the experience was the best of all trainings commissioned by the city. There was immediate interest in providing an extended Conversations Journey for all staff.
PHASE TWO: In 2023, the City of Ashland scheduled two separate Conversations Journeys along with the Activities Workshops. Due to size of the staff, scheduling required splitting the participants into two groups. Group 1 was scheduled in the month of April across two days. Day 1 was a half-day (8am to Noon) Conversations Journey experience. Day 2 was the following day (8am to Noon) for the Activities Workshop. We repeated the process in the month of May for Group 2.
RESULTS: All participants were encouraged to take a Baseline Survey provided at the beginning of the Conversations Journey. At the end, participants took a Reflections Survey. Participants kept the results of both surveys to themselves. The surveys helped them gain insight into how the experience changed their own perspectives (or not). CGC invited participants to fill out an online feedback form, which provided us with data and participant insights to help us improve the overall experience.
More than 90% of the participating staff at the City of Ashland rated their experience in our Conversations Journey either 4 or 5 on a scale of 5 (highest).
